What You Can’t See Behind The Mask

What we do not see behind the mask

Choosing your own mask is the first voluntary human gesture. And lonely.

Many people are successful, happy, or seem to have perfect lives. But is this really the case? Not always, because many of them pretend. This is called wearing a mask.

These are depressed people who are optimistic, anxious people who appear relaxed, and people who choose to wear a mask so that others cannot see who they really are.

Do you want to know the different masks we wear and their reasons? We will explain everything to you in this article!

The controller

It may be that someone who controls all aspects of their life has been betrayed before. In the face of this pain, the person develops a behavior that will allow him to ensure that others keep their promise. Thus, she will avoid suffering another betrayal.

The controller hides feelings of insecurity. Thus, it is essential to control everything, and even sometimes in an exaggerated way.

The mask protects him from the pain of yet another betrayal, as he tries to do everything to prevent it from happening again.

The rigid

A rigid person has sometimes suffered great injustices before. In the face of this, she becomes inflexible, constantly seeking justice and the correctness of things.

A rigid person becomes a perfectionist, so much so that it turns into an obsession. Everything must be in its place!

So, studying everything perfectly will prevent injustice from ringing our doorsteps. This is why the rigid behaves like this.

The dependent

A dependent person often carries the pain of feeling abandoned. This wound generates indifference towards others, so as not to feel abandoned again. This avoids taking any relationship seriously, while rejecting the idea of living with someone.

The pain of abandonment is terrible. The dependent person suffers deep within them that they cannot depend on someone, or that they cannot believe that the people important to them will never give up.

The escapee

The fleeing person rejects the company. She prefers solitude, and moments of calm. She totally rejects being the center of attention because it all scares her.

A fleeing person behaves like this because he has been rejected and it causes such a wound in him that he prefers to avoid it.

Shifty people can’t stand not knowing how to act in certain situations, being ashamed or feeling lost, simply because it would cause rejection from others.

In their solitude they are neither vulnerable nor uncertain. Their mask protects them from what makes them suffer. Could it be cowardice? No! It’s just a matter of preventing what we can’t control from hurting us.

The masochist

It could be a mental or an emotional masochist. This attitude is due to a feeling of humiliation and shame from a past situation.

This then causes this masochistic attitude pushing to always want to solve the problems of others by all means, no matter if one is humiliated or belittled.

The masochist does not act like the profiles we saw just before, and he does not seek to avoid or flee his injuries.

The masochist faces what hurts him, sometimes seeking to suffer even more. He was hurt and he was out of control.

Today he is in control and it is he who decides who will harm him or not. Deep down, it helps him get over the situation.

We have seen that there are several different and varied masks, which are most often explained by a past emotional injury.

Do you recognize anyone in these different profiles? It is easy to identify people who wear a mask, as they sometimes leave their true personalities hidden.

It is best to overcome what causes this fear in us. Maybe the masochist is hard on himself, but he at least faces his pain.

This can make him stronger and allow him to overcome his trauma, or, on the contrary, to make himself suffer even more.

And you, what do you think of all this? What is your point of view ?  We can’t wait to read your answers!
