One Door Always Opens When Another Closes

Life is full of opportunities, we just need to know how to seize our own. 

This is why we are talking about opening a door here. We often think that when something ends, the sky falls on our heads suddenly and definitively.

However, we can decide to look at it another way. The end of an era gives us the ability to begin another adventure, at least as exciting.

In this article, we’re going to give you a little brainstorming exercise.

We are going to ask ourselves why some doors close on our lives, what experience and what wisdom they leave in each of us, and how it is possible to take advantage of this new knowledge to open other doors that lead to new worlds filled with ‘opportunities.

Why do some doors close on our lives?

Have you ever thought about the reasons that lead certain doors to close on us?

Remember, we are talking about doors figuratively. A physical door can be closed with a handle and a lock, due to the wind or the action of a crank, out of spite or with violence. The possibilities are endless.

But let’s extrapolate all these reasons to human life, in a more metaphysical sense.

Why are the doors closing or for what reasons are we closing them? The reasons are also numerous and can be found in the hundreds of possible scenarios. Here are a few :

• A relationship has just ended. You may think that when there is no longer any reason to fight in a relationship, it is okay to close the door.
  Where there was flames and a mighty hearth, only embers and ashes remain
• A friendship ends. Even our best friends can betray us and, in this case, we feel unable to forgive them. So we close the door to avoid suffering more and we end this relationship to move away from the pain.
• A job ends. Few people are happy with work. It is also very complicated to change jobs during your career, for something that appeals to us more.
  We can still decide to give up our current job to take other professional paths. It is a painful and very difficult decision to make.

What happens when we close a door?

In most cases, closing a door permanently involves significant pain.

If you have to leave your partner because there is nothing left between you, if you have to end a ten-year friendship because of betrayal, if you have to leave a job that made you happy in the past, if you have to have to change your place of residence, it is very likely that you will feel, during the first days of this change, a great feeling of sadness.

Now think about the circumstances that led you to close these doors. How did you get there?

What happened to make you decide to leave your partner, a person who has long been at the center of your life?

Why do you have to leave this city where you feel happy?

Think for a moment and think about the decisions you made, all of those choices that are going to lead to this situation.

Don’t spend your time trying to blame others and sincerely discover your share of the blame.

There is always something you could have done better, or should have said before.

Or maybe not, but it’s important that you know it, analyze the situation and learn from it.

Other doors open

Now that you’ve closed a door and thought about all the circumstances that will lead to this situation, it’s time to discover all the new opportunities available to you and take advantage of the world that is opening up beneath your feet. .

Embrace them with strength, as you have a long way to go.

You just had a bad experience and you had to close the door on someone or something that you loved and mattered to you.

You have reflected on and learned all the lessons from this emotional event in your life.

Now, with the new experience you have just gained, you must look to the future with optimism, to discover all the new opportunities that are available to you.

You have more experience and wisdom. Use them to learn that when you’ve done something the wrong way, you shouldn’t start over.

Learn to get back on the right path and stay the course for your future experiences. Take advantage of all the opportunities that life has to offer.

Nothing is ever finished. If you let go of someone you love, you lose a great love, but that doesn’t mean your life is over.

There are still plenty of things to do, many doors to open, many adventures to experience, new people to meet, new works to begin and unfamiliar cities to visit.
