Tucibi (2C-B): The Drug Of High Society

Tucibi (2C-B): the drug of high society

Tucibi is called “the drug of high society” in reference to its high prices. It is also known by other names such as “Venus”, “Erox”, “Nexus”, “MFT”, “pink cocaine” and many more. Its original name is actually 2C-B, a name used in the classifications of narcotics. On the other hand, this term was given by English speakers and by Spanishizing the nomination, the name Tu-ci-bi was born.

This drug is mentioned as being new, but in fact its origins go back to 1974, when the formula was created by Alexander Shulgin in a laboratory in California. Many claim that it was invented in Germany but the doubt remains today.

2C-B is a designer drug. This means that it can be prepared or synthesized in a laboratory, using chemical substances, that is to say, non-natural. This is what differentiates it from other drugs whose base consists of natural plants, such as marijuana or cocaine.

The history of Tucibi

2C-B became popular in the 1980s, a time when several synthetic drugs began to be in fashion. In 1985 “Ecstasy” was declared to be an illegal drug. This gave impetus to Tucibi which was also finally banned in 1994 in the United States. Gradually its use became illegal in the rest of the world. At that time, it was better known as the “Nexus”.

2C-B illegal

From 2004, this illegal drug began a new stage of development, this time in Latin America. It was widely consumed in Mexico and was imported to Colombia two years later. The 2C-B entered the land of coffee through the department called Medellín. A man belonging to the underprivileged classes began to manufacture this drug for his own account, with a Creole formula. He was known to everyone as “Alejo Tusibi”.

Medellin drug traffickers succeeded in expelling “Alejo” from that city. From there he stopped in Cali, where he was also exiled by the traditional mafias. Finally, he set up his business in Bogota. It was there that he was kidnapped and forced to reveal his formula.

The case remained in the hands of a great Mafioso named Urdinola, who was later extradited. Currently Colombia is the main producer of Tucibi. It exports it mainly to Europe, where the country with the largest number of consumers is Germany.

An amphetamine with psychedelic effects

2C-B (2,5-dimetoxi-4-bromo-feniletilamina) belongs to the amphetamine family. These are powerful stimulants of the central nervous system. It is marketed on the black market mainly in the form of tablets and capsules. However, it can be in the form of a powder that must be inhaled. Its presentations are different but generally, it circulates in the form of pink seals. This is where its name “pink cocaine” comes from.

2C-B drug pink

Usually, this illegal drug is taken by mouth. Everything seems to indicate that when it arrives in the brain, it attaches itself to the adrenaline, norepinephrine and dopamine receptors. Tucibi is also a psychedelic drug. This means that it alters perceptual and cognitive processes, giving rise to the production of illusions and / or hallucinations.

The effects of 2C-B take longer to appear than those of other drugs such as ecstasy. After ingestion, it can take one to two hours for the drug to reach the brain. Its effect lasts between 4 and 8 hours. It all depends on the build, physiology and conditions of each person. A low dose is considered to be 10 milligrams. A moderate dose ranges from 10 to 24 milligrams. A high dose is between 25 and 40 milligrams. Any higher dose corresponds to an overdose.

Drug effects

Tucibi has physical, psychological and side effects. Minor doses generate a sensory enhancer effect. This means that the drug exalts and enhances whatever is picked up by the senses. Higher doses cause other effects shown below:

drug effects
  • Visual and auditory hallucinations
  • Perception of gleams and ripples on objects
  • Want to laugh, sometimes accompanied by feelings of worry and anguish
  • Sensation of insight
  • Increased awareness of one’s own body
  • Sudden changes in moral state
  • When the doses are very high, it is common for feelings of fear or even panic attacks to appear.

Regarding the effects of Tucibi, the most common are: increased blood pressure, dilated pupils, blurred vision, dizziness and insomnia. However, there is not enough research regarding long term effects. On the other hand, it is known that prolonged consumption generally causes severe cases of anxiety, depression and great difficulty sleeping. It is not known exactly how addictive this drug is.

Due to the lack of knowledge of this drug, any sudden change in the body after ingestion should be considered a medical emergency. It has been reported that some consumers who use high doses suffer from headaches, cardiac arrhythmias, tremors and even seizures.

Other information about the Tucibi

The effect of each dose depends on the characteristics of the person taking it. For some, 15 milligrams can cause barely noticeable reactions. For others, this dose will be high and they will suffer from hallucinations. Between 14 and 24 milligrams, a difference of just 2 milligrams can represent a significant increase in effect.

danger of tucibi doses

In Colombia, Tucibi is called “the drug of queens and models”. This strange name comes from the fact that it was discovered that  the combination of 2C-B and ecstasy has an aphrodisiac power. This result is especially visible in women. In fact, before being banned, Tucibi was used by psychiatrists in couples therapy. We can say that if one day we manage to invent a totally effective aphrodisiac, 2C-B will be its main component.

While it has been said to be an elite drug for its cost, it may not be. It’s priced high on the black market, but it’s not that different from cocaine. The latter causes less lasting effects, which requires a larger dose. From this point of view, these two drugs therefore have a similar price.
