This Feeling Of Peace Reveals That You Have Made The Right Decision

This feeling of peace reveals that you have made the right decision

That feeling of peace that you now feel reveals that you have made the right decision.

It may not be the fairest for some, or the most logical for others. In fact, it might not even be the best. Yet it is clear that it is the decision that makes you happy, the one that brings together your values, your essence and your feelings …

Sigmund Freud said that making a decision is like riding a racehorse.

For his part, the rider is the one who holds the reins of reason, who directs, brakes and directs.

In this case, the one that wins most of the time when making a decision is our fascinating emotional architecture, where every day hundreds and hundreds of races take place …

Life is choosing. Therefore, we spend much time practicing the art of decision making: c afé or tea, elevator or stairs to call or not call, take the train or let it pass. ..

Making a choice can provide the same sensations that accompany leaping into the void. It is a gesture for which we need a big dose of courage and responsibility.

We invite you to reflect on the subject.

There is no such thing as a good decision, only the will to be happy exists

Henry James wrote an exceptional tale called The Pleasant Corner. In the tale, he introduces us to Spencer Brydon, a young man who, after achieving success and fortune in the United States, returns home to England.

In the solitude of his now empty house, he wonders if he did well, if the choice to leave his roots and his had been the right one.

In the middle of this existential doubt, suddenly arises his alter ego, this other self who reveals to him, little by little, what he would have become if he had never left.

The doubt that we have when we ask ourselves whether or not we have made the right decision is something that will always accompany us.

So, as Henry James teaches us in this tale, making a decision comes first from our heart, but behind the choice is responsibility.

From emotion, we move on to reason and, above all, to the obligation to be architects of our own paths.

There are not always good decisions or paths with neon lights that show us where happiness awaits us every day.

The wisest decision is the one that offers us peace, the one that accompanies our conscience and, in turn, invites us to continue to make logical decisions about who we are.

The art of making wise decisions with the heart

We now know that when it comes to making one decision or another, emotions are like our stars in the middle of an ocean of doubts.

So you will also like to know that the brain structure that gives off the most light during this process is the amygdala.

The amygdala has hundreds of connections throughout the brain. It is a fine and fascinating structure which acts as a small sentinel able to evaluate any stimulation, any thought, experience or conscious or unconscious event.

After this analysis,  the amygdala makes a judgment, a decision that will later be carefully analyzed by our frontal cortex .

Since we know that we make a lot of our decisions “emotionally,” let’s see how we can make them a little wiser, more fair and responsible.

Solutions for making decisions

To be happy, you have to make decisions and be able to go beyond the limit of fear. This is something that can sometimes seem very complicated to us, because deciding also means having to leave things behind.

  • When our heart asks us to move on and fear arises, then we need to rationalize that fear and understand it.
From emotion, we then move on to reason, because it is logic and conscious thought that must courageously invite us to bring down the walls of our fears.
  • When your emotions point you in a particular way, ask yourself if you are being realistic. This is a question you have to ask yourself, just yourself and no one else. If you see it doable and if it makes you happy, then don’t let anything or anyone stop you from doing it.
  • Accept the possibility of failure. Tolerate and assume that things may not turn out well, but also understand that in order to find the way to happiness, several choices are necessary. It’s just a door that will give you access to lots of other paths.

The art of being happy is knowing how to decide every day by agreeing with the voice of our heart, and by accepting our mistakes in order to gradually find our vital paths and our inner peace.
